The Board of Trustees of Nankani and Hagan Limited has awarded scholarship to ten (10) brilliant but needy students. The scholarships have been given to the students to support them through their programmes of study.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. W.O. Ellis recalled the assistance Nankani and Hagan Limited had offered students in the University since 2002. He commended the company for its support and encouraged management to continue with their supportive role. He showed gratitude for the scholarship given by the company over the year.
Dr. Ben Essel Hagan, leader of the group expressed the company's willingness to continue supporting hardworking but needy students in the University. He stressed that the scholarships were instituted for brilliant but needy students in the Agric and Natural Resources, Engineering, Health Sciences and Science Colleges. The students from the College of Health Sciences received 300Gh¢ each while those from the other Colleges received 250Gh¢ each.
The awardees were Mr. Michael Osei Safo, Human Biology; Charlisa Afua Brown, Agriculture; Sarah Konadu Denkyira, Agriculture; Umar Abdul - Rashid, Stats and Actuarial Science; Diana Sorbobr Dawani, Natural Resources Management; Ruth Mensah, Agri Business Management; Listowel Abugri Anaba , Agricultural Engineering;Taylor Ebenezer Mintah, Biological Sciences; Daniel D. Kwesi Sia, Veterinary Medicine and Courage Ametorwodo Dorvi, Human Biology all in their 2nd years.
The Vice-Chancellor encouraged the awardees to do exploit with the scholarships received.
Mr. Courage Ametorwodo Dorvi representing the awardees, advised his colleagues to put the scholarship received to fruitful use and study earnestly to make their donors proud.
Other representatives present from Nankani and Hagan were, Amoako Atta, Christina Acquaah, Patience Akuffo, Prince Hagan and Prof. Fred Akuffo.
Mr. Okrah, Senior Assistant Registrar; Mr. Baah Boateng, Students Affairs; Prof. Abaidoo, Provost of College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and Pro Vice-Chancellor, Peter Donkor also represented KNUST.
